The HTC M8 (it sounds as if the brand new smartphone will be called The All New One) will reportedly debut March 25 and we are receiving more details about HTC’s next-gen flagship as we are getting closer to its release date.
Since the Galaxy S5 is definitely the most anticipated smartphone of the year, I would have expected the leakers to flood us with info about Sammy’s next-gen flagship, given that its official debut is less then a week away. Surprisingly enough, HTC’s The All New One is leaking more even though its launch is more than a month away.
After we’ve see a press photo of the gold HTC M8 hitting the web earlier today, now we get to look at a leaked photo of an HTC M8 protected by a case. Yes, that’s right a case. It’s the first time I see a smartphone being leaked with a case on.
The leaked photo comes from our favorite leaker, @evleaks and reveals what is seems to be the black version of the All New One. It also shows the new Sense 6 interface HTC will allegedly place on top of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The HTC One sequel is expected to bring a unibody aluminium case and to ditch the capacitive home and back buttons over an on-screen navigation bar.
According to the rumor mill, the All New One will sport a 5.0-inch full HD screen, 3 GB of RAM, quad-core Snapdragon 800 or Snapdragon 805 processor, 3,000 mAh battery, 5 MP secondary cam, dual primary camera with dual LED flash, and, as you’ve already noticed from the photos that leaked over the past few days, a design that is pretty similar to the one of its predecessor.
Interestingly enough, neither of leaked photos showed anything about HTC M8 sporting a fingerprint sensor. It looks like the Taiwan-based company doesn’t want to fight the fingerprint war against Apple’s iPhone 5S and Samsung’s Galaxy S5, even though it’s 2013 phablet HTC One Max featured such technology.
