Although the parents at HTC haven’t formally introduced the HTC Want eight mid-ranger but, they already demonstrated that the smartphone does exist on their Weibo account.
So far, reports have indicated that the Taiwan-based phone maker would introduce the mid-range tablet in China on February 24th, and that it would feature a 5.5-inch screen, dual-SIM support on certain markets, 13 MP primary shooter, and 5 MP secondary shooter. LlabTooFeR HTC ROM developer has more details about Desire 8 and he was kind enough to share them with everybody.
According to him, the HTC Desire 8 will be released in many parts of Asia, Europe, and North America. On the latter market, the handset will be available for purchase at both Sprint and AT&T.
LlabTooFeR confirms the reports saying that HTC’s mid-range phablet will pack a 5.5-inch display, 13 MP rear-facing camera, and 5 MB front-facing camera, adding that the screen will have 720p resolution and that the processing tasks will be handled by a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor. Other specs include 8 GB of microSD-expandable storage, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0 out of the box. It will also come with on-screen software buttons.
There’s no doubt that the HTC Desire 8 (pictured above) has great looks and great specs for a mid-range smartphone, so if the price is right the Taiwanese phablet might attract quite a few customers.
Of course, there’s no way to verify these reports so we are advising you to take them with a pinch of salt, because nothing is official until HTC says so.
If the rumors are proved to be accurate and the Desire 8 will have the aforementioned specs and looks, would you be tempted to purchase the device?
