It has been rumored for a while that Sony is readying a successor for the Xperia Tablet Z, but, until yesterday, we had very few leaks about the device. Yesterday, courtesy of @evleaks, we’ve had a look at the technical specifications of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2, while today we get to see the first leaked photos of the said tablet.
According to the latest reports, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 will be underpinned by a quad-core 2.3 Snapdragon 800 processor and 3 GB of RAM. It seems that the yet-unannounced tablet will sport 16 GB of native storage, microSD slot, 8 MP primary camera, 2 MP secondary camera, a 6,000 mAh battery, and a waterproof design, while running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
Design-wise, the Xperia Tablet Z2 borrows the elements that debuted last year on the Xperia Z, and it looks like it will be available in both white and black.
Given that the Xperia Tablet Z2 leaks have intensified, we might get to see it in flash next week, at Mobile World Congress 2014 event in Barcelona. The Japanese company is also expected to debut the Xperia Z2 (Sony Sirius) at the Barcelona-based tech fair, which is supposed to be the successor of the Xperia Z1.
Anyway, because there’s no way to verify the rumors, we are advising you to take them with a pinch of salt, as nothing is official until Sony says so.
If the rumors prove true and the Tablet Z2 comes with the aforementioned specs would you be interested in purchasing one? Here’s a gallery of the five Xperia Tablet Z2 photos that leaked online in the past few hours.
