Judging by the number of Galaxy S5-related leaks, it’s safe to say that we are pretty close to the debut of Samsung’s 2014 flagship.
The infamous leaker @evleaks, revealed an alleged photo taken with the Samsung Galaxy S5. Even though the photo below isn’t telling us anything about the Galaxy S5′s camera quality (it looks like it has been pointed to a wall), it confirms what the rumors have suggested for a while now: that Samsung’s next-gen flagship smartphone will pack a 16 MP camera.
The EXIF data of the alleged Galaxy S5 image sample reveals that the original file had a resolution of 5,312 × 2,988 (about 16MP). The interesting thing is that the shot is in 19:6, which might suggest that the camera used for taking the photo has a resolution of 21 MP in 4:3 format. The EXIF also revealed that the device used for taking the photo is SAMSUNG-SM-G900V, which could be the Galaxy S5 model for Verizon.
It’s relatively easy to fake EXIF data, that’s why we are advising you to take the report with a pinch of salt.
On the other hand, the folks at Sammobile revealed some details regarding the model numbers of the Samsung Galaxy S5. As usual, they come from “a trusted source,” and are as follows:
