Samsung is definitely willing to fill all niches when it comes to both smartphones and tablets. The Korean company already has at least a dozen of smartphones on the market (not to mention about the variants of the respective smartphones) and lots of tablets, which almost doesn’t let any niche uncovered. Well, Samsung though it’s time to add a new tablet to their portfolio, therefore they introduced the Galaxy Tab 3.
More than have a year ago, Samsung introduced three Galaxy Tab 3 models, with 7, 8, and 10 inch displays, but now they are bringing a Lite version of the Galaxy Tab 3 7.
The standard Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 didn’t have the most impressive technical specification, but as you’ve probably guessed, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is even lower-end than it. The standard model already sells for less than $ 150, therefore the price of the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite should be even lower. Talking about price, Samsung failed to mention how much the Tab 3 Lite will cost. They didn’t even announce when it will become available for purchase.
Want to hear some specs? Hear that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite comes with the same dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, has 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of microSD-expandable storage, and the same 1,024 x 600 display sized 7 inches diagonally. Unlike the standard model, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite doesn’t come with a front-facing camera, while the primary shooter has been downgraded to 2 MP. There’s no IR blaster and the battery is of 3,600 mAh, compared to the 4,000 mAh cell of the Galaxy Tab 3.
The low-end tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, of course, customized with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz interface. Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will be available in WiFi-only and WiFi+3G variants.
If the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is set below $ 100 (which is very likely), then the new low-end tablet of the South Korean company might attract some customers. In fact, the Galaxy Tab 3 is one of the best-selling Android tablets on the market, mostly because of its price and because of the recognizable brand.
