Sony Xperia Z1s has been announced at CES and it’s already available for free with a $ 22 T-Mobile contract for two years. The Xperia Z1s is basically the same old Z1 and will only be available at T-Mobile.
You can already order the Z1s as of today on T-Mobile’s website and it will also reach brick-and-mortar stores on January 22.
The smartphone features a 5-inch 1080p Triluminos display quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, clocked at 2.2 Ghz and an Adreno 330 GPU. It also comes with 2GB of RAM, a 20.7MP camera and 32GB of internal storage. It’s one of the top high-end smartphones, competing without an effort with the Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
The only difference between Xperia Z1 and Z1s is the internal storage. While the Z1 comes with only 16GB of storage, Z1s has been bumped to 32GB, which comes as great news to T-Mobile’s subscribers.
Fortunately for T-Mobile subscribers, the phone’s price is really low, considering that it comes for free with a 24 months contract of just $ 22 / month. This offer might make the other carriers lower prices on their top smartphones too, so we’ll probably see a tough competition on the US market pretty soon.
We believe both companies are preparing to compete with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S5, which is due to be released in the upcoming months and it’s probably going to become 2014′s Android best-seller, as previous Galaxy S models did each year. HTC should also upgrade the One, their flagship smartphone, around March or April.
