Besides the Alcatel Pop 7 and Pop 8 mid-rage tablets, the France-based company also introduced a new smartphone today. We are talking about a 5.5-inch smartphone called Alcatel OneTouch Pop C9 which will be available in a wide variety of colors.
The Alcatel OneTouch Pop C9 will become available for purchase in five different color and the representatives of the company say that the device will stand out with the large quantity of pre-installed apps and a minimalist interface. As I was mentioning above, the OneTouch Pop C9 comes with a 5.5-inch display, which rather places it in the phablet segment. Let’s have a closer look at the hardware specifications of the new Alcatel device.
Alcatel OneTouch Pop C9 comes with a 5.5-inch qHD IPS display with 540 x 960 resolutions, which, kind of make it a rival for Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 5.8. The OneTouch Pop C9 is underpinned by a processor based on four cores clocked at 1.3 GHz, has 1 GB RAM, 4 GB of native storage with support for microSD cards (up to 32 GB), and Bluetooth 4.0.
The device has an 8 MP camera with flash mounted on the back, which, among others, can record HD videos at 720p. The front-facing camera has a 2 MP sensor and it should be just what you need for video calls. OneTouch Pop C9 also features a 2,500 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
Unfortunately, Alcatel failed to mention the price of the Pop C9, but don’t expect it to be very expensive given its technical specifications. The release date of the new OneTouch smartphone is yet to be revealed.
