In order to properly celebrate the launch of its new Google + page, the infamous @evleaks has posted a new press photo of a yet unannounced smartphone. We are talking about the already-famous HTC One Max, as smartphone that can be admired in the leaked picture above.
You’ve probably heard about the HTC One Max before, as it is not the first time the Taiwanese company’s phablet is making the headlines. We’ve seen the One Max in some leaked photos before, but most of the hands-on spy shots were unclear. Just like its name suggests the HTC One Max, previously known as HTC T6, is an HTC One on steroids, a smartphone meant to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3.
Rumor has it that the HTC One Max will be officially unveiled at IFA Berlin 2013 and that it will come with a 5.9 or 6.0-inch Super LCD3 display. Of course, since we’re talking about a high-end smartphone circa 2013 the One Max will come with full HD resolution, but also a powerful hardware platform to match the one of the Galaxy Note 3.
Reports are suggesting that besides 2 GB of RAM, the HTC One Max will feature Qualcomm’s mighty Snapdragon 800 chipset with a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. The camera mounted on the back of the HTC One Max will most likely be borrowed from the HTC One: a 4 megapixel unit with UltraPixel sensor packing autofocus, LED flash, 1/3” sensor size, 2µm pixel size, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, optical image stabilization, and support for full HD video recording.
The connectivity options of the HTC One Max will definitely be worthy of a modern smartphone as they will include 4G LTE (maybe even LTE Advanced since the Snapdragon 800 chippset supports it), BLuetooth 4.0 Low Energy, NFC chip, all standards of WiFi, and IR blaster.
The phablet will probably run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 on top of it, of course, bringing the popular BlinkFeed, Zoe, and Zoe Share.
Besides the size differences, when compared to the HTC One, it seems that HTC One Maxx will come with a couple of design changes. The LED flash is now placed below the camera sensors while the phablet seems to have an even more curved back.
Everybody has hight expectations from the HTC One Max, being the company’s first phablet. Moreover, the HTC One Max will have to withstand heavy competition from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
