Earlier today, we learned that the South Korean phone maker will reveal its new phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, along with the Gear smartwatch on September 4. In other words, only a moth remains until will get to see Samsung’s next flagship device. There are usually tons of leaks just before an important handset gets launched.
So, we have one already. We don’t know if this was made intentional or not, but an individual that seems to be a staff member of the Mexican branch of Samsung Electronics has posted a few images on his Google+ account. The interesting aspect is that some of the photos were takes with a SM-N9005 device, which is rumored to be a version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. First time we saw this label was back in June when it appeared on a Samsung Kazakhstan website.
Anyway, the photos are not revealing us many details about the device itself, but we can get an idea about its camera. According to the images, the Galaxy Note 3 will most likely sport the same camera as the Galaxy S4, which is a great camera, but this could also be bad news for the people who are expecting something better from the Galaxy Note 3.
The images’ pixel resolution is 4128 x 2322, which is around 10MP. Strange, huh? However, the sensor’s native format is 4:3, and the pictures have been cropped to 16:9, thus the odd resolution has a good explanation. Other details need to be mentioned are the focal length which is 4.6 mm and the f/2.2 aperture. Yes, I know EXIF that can be falsified by anyone who has some skills, but the photos match up with previous rumors.
Of course, these photos definitely don’t have the best quality, but this should not be a deal breaker regarding the Galaxy Note 3 as they are just some photos and we aren’t even sure that they are the real deal. However, they seem to be and we are saying this due to the squarish handset that reflects in one of the images, which seems to be a Galaxy Note 3 prototype.
